One of the most common features of Google Drive is the ability to make copies of files. However, sometimes you may encounter an error message that says "Can't make a copy."


There are a few things you can do to try to fix this error message:

1.  Check your storage space. To make a copy of a file, you need to have enough free space in your Google Drive account. You can check your available storage space by going to drive.google.com and looking at the sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen.

2.  Try making a copy in a different location. If you're trying to make a copy of a file in a shared folder, make sure that you have the necessary permissions. You can also try making a copy of the file in a different location, such as your My Drive folder.

3.  Restart your browser. Sometimes, a simple browser restart can fix minor issues with Google Drive.

4.  Try using a different browser. If you're still having trouble making a copy of the file, try using a different browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

5.  Clear your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, corrupt cache files or cookies can cause problems with Google Drive. To clear your browser's cache and cookies, follow the instructions for your specific browser.

6.  Disable your browser extensions. Some browser extensions can interfere with Google Drive. If you're still having trouble making a copy of the file, try disabling your browser extensions.

7.  Try using Incognito mode. Incognito mode disables all browser extensions and clears your browser's cache and cookies. To open a new Incognito window, press Ctrl+Shift+N on your keyboard.

8.  Try making a copy from a different device. If you're still having trouble making a copy of the file, try making a copy from a different device, such as your phone or tablet.

9.  Contact Google support. If you've tried all of the above steps and you're still having trouble making a copy of the file, you can contact Google support for help.
